Sleep Problems

It is generally recommended by health authorities that the average adult should aim to get between 7 and 9 hours sleep each night.

However, if this is not your daily intake and you are experiencing sleep problems , you are not alone.  “Two thirds of adults throughout developed nations fail to obtain the recommend eight hours of nightly sleep” (Professor Matthew Walker).

  • 1 in 3 people in the UK struggle to fall asleep every single night

  • A further 15% struggle to fall asleep at least once a week

  • Sleep problems cost of at least £39.5 million per year to the NHS

If you are having problems with your sleep you might be experiencing symptoms such as:

  • Irritability

  • Feelings of anxiousness or depressed thoughts

  • Dependency on caffeine or other stimulants to enable you to “function”

  • Lack of concentration and short term memory loss

  • Changes in appetite

  • Headaches

  • Decreased immune system

  • Decreased sports performance
